Alexandra J. Gage recently presented at the Oklahoma City Employment Law Symposium hosted by the Office of Civil Rights and the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office. Her topic was “A Refresher on Employee Accommodation Requests: How to Properly Document and Defend Them.” She focused on accommodation requests under the Americans with Disabilities Act and referenced the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act and Title VII religious accommodation requests.
Other topics discussed at the event included emerging issues in employment law discrimination, including updates on equal employment practices, navigating social and political expression in the workplace, and handling religious accommodations within employee dress codes.
The conference was open to attorneys, human resource professionals, equal employment opportunity officers and staff, large and small employers, union officials and other people interested in employment law.
